Paul McCartney is a singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool, England. McCartney grew up with strong musical influences from his father who was a musician and also used to lead his own jazz band. He learned how to play various instruments and later met George Harrison and members of a band called the Quarrymen whom he worked with under the name “The Beatles.” The band made their first performance in 1960 and later released multiple records and became a worldwide success. McCartney also released numerous records as a solo artist. He’s also been honoured with numerous awards and accolades including 18 Grammy Awards, an induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and being rated the 11th Greatest Singer of All Time.
