November 22, 1967Mark Ruffalo is an American actor, director, and producer born in Wisconsin and raised both there and Virginia. Ruffalo did a lot of wrestling in high school, and after graduating he co-founded the Orpheus Theater Company, where he expanded his career in acting by writing, directing, and performing in multiple plays. He had his television debut in an episode of the 1989 series CBS Summer Playhouse and in 1992 he had his film debut in Rough Trade. Ruffalo rose to prominence in 2000 in the film You Can Count on Me which helped him land roles in numerous other blockbusters. He is a three-time Oscar nominee in the Best Supporting Actor category: The Kids Are All Right, Foxcatcher and Spotlight.
