Dave Chappelle is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer from the D.C area. Chappelle’s early comedic influences include Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. He later studied theater arts and moved to New York City to explore a career in comedy. He made his first film appearance in Robin Hood: Men in Tights at age 19. He later appeared in other films and television shows such as The Nutty Professor, You’ve Got Mail, Undercover Brother, Home Improvement, Buddies, and The Larry Sanders Show. He then rose to worldwide prominence in 2003 with the critically acclaimed sketch-comedy series Chappelle’s Show.
