Notes from the Rep Biz - 12-14-2018

At CAA:

Award-winning Swedish actor Stellan SkÃ¥rsgard has signed with Joel Lubin and Michael Katcher. He can next be seen in HBO's limited series Chernobyl, which premieres next year. 

Actor Stephan James, breakout star of the newly-released If Beale Street Could Talk, as well as Amazon's Homecoming, has signed with Jack Whigham

In other news, agent Rob Herting has left the firm in order to start a studio entitled QCODE, alongside management company Grandview.

At WME:

Actor Ray Fisher, perhaps best known for his role as Cyborg in Justice League and the expanded DC Universe, has signed with Meredith Wechter and Holly Jeter.

Longtime rep Ari Greenberg has been named president of the agency, while executive Mark Shapiro has been announced as president of parent company Endeavor.
 
At Innovative Artists:

The agency has had a trio of assistants make the leap to agent status, with Dara Finkel and Jacqueline Kim doing so in Los Angeles and Christopher Stego in New York.

At Paradigm:

Writer/director Derrick Borte has signed with Mark Ross. His latest film, American Dreamer, premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in September. 

Swedish filmmaker Levan Tsikurishvili, who directed the musical doc Avicii: True Stories, has signed with Ben Weiss.

At Gersh:

Bestselling author Jon Krakauer, the writer of Into the Wild and Into Thin Air among othershas signed with Joseph Veltre.   

ICM Partners:

Actor Sverrir Gudnason and poet Rupi Kaur are both new signings for the agency. Gudnason broke out with a starring role in 2017's Borg vs McEnroe, while Kaur's self-published collection milk and honey became a New York Times bestseller in 2014. 

Management Notes:

Manager Meredith Rothman has left Mosaic after five years to join Anonymous Content. Her roster includes KiKi Layne of If Beale Street Could Talk as well as Na-Kel Smith of mid90s.
