Box Office Round-Up ~ 11/13/24

Veterans Day Weekend proved to be a quiet one at the box office, as Venom: The Last Dance retained the top spot for its third weekend in a row, grossing $15.9 million to clear $100 million overall. Two new releases followed in second and third place, as Heretic debuted with $11 million, continuing A24’s successful box office run this year. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever also premiered this past weekend with $10.7 million.

The Wild Robot remained in the top five after seven weekends, taking fourth place with $6.6 million. Smile 2 finished up four weekends in theaters in fifth place, grossing $5.1 million for a domestic total of $60.6 million.

This holiday-slash-awards season kicks off in full over the next two weekends, starting this Friday 11/15 with holiday action comedy Red One starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans. The weekend before Thanksgiving ups the ante even further with the long-awaited feature film adaptation of Wicked, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, along with Gladiator II, Ridley Scott’s sequel to his Oscar-winning 2000 film.
