Box Office Round-Up ~ 11/6/24

In the first November’s five weekends this year, Venom: The Last Dance retained the top spot at the box office with a decent $25.9 million. The solid hold makes up for the disappointing opening last weekend. The Sony/Marvel sequel has grossed $89 million overall and should clear $100 million by next weekend.

The Wild Robot moved back up to second place in its sixth weekend in theaters. Grossing $7.4 million, it has cleared $120 million in the U.S. and will likely pass $300 million worldwide. In third place, Smile 2 grossed $6.7 million in its third weekend, passing $50 million overall. It doesn’t look, however, like it will reach the $100 million domestic mark of the first Smile in 2022, which may put a potential Smile 3 in doubt.

Conclave dropped just 24% in its second weekend, holding onto fourth place with $5 million, for $15 million overall domestically. In fifth place, awards hopeful Here from director Robert Zemeckis debuted with an underwhelming $4.8 million. It will likely see some theatrical expansion depending on critical word-of-mouth, but it’s doesn’t appear likely to resonate like Zemeckis' previous collaboration with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright (a little film called Forrest Gump).
