Notes from the Rep Biz - 4-30-21
At ICM Partners:
Chris Tucker, once the toast of American comedy (and still a very talented dude), has traded UTA for ICM.
Madelyn Cline, a star of Netflix's surprise hit Outer Banks, is now an ICM client, as is Losing Alice star Lihi Kornowski.
Freddie Highmore, an actor we've watched grow up in front of our very eyes, has also taken his business to ICM Partners.
At WME:
The latest influencers to sign on with WME's digital department include YouTuber Donald De La Haye Jr. (aka Deestroying) and in a real twist, Clubhouse breakouts NYU Girls, an octet of female comedians known for opening a "virtual singles bar" during Covid lockdown.
At UTA:
UTA kept snapping up influencers as well, including TikTokers Joanne Molinaro and Alex French, the latter of whom will also be working with one of UTA's recently acquired assets, management company Digital Brand Architects.
Elsewhere Around Town:
A3 Agency has really made some noise since rebranding. The company formerly known as Abrams Artists has just signed popular football commentator and former NFL star Reggie Bush, and their completely revamped lit department can count Oscar nominee Will Berson (Judas and the Black Messiah) among its new signs.
A few weeks back, we confirmed that Wasserman, the sports agency founded by Casey Wasserman, would be acquiring Paradigm's entire North American music touring business. Well, the new entity now has a name and that name is ... Wasserman Music. We hope that was worth the wait.
