Box Office Round-Up ~ 11/10/25

September and October were no picnic for the box office, with one underperforming after another. But thankfully that streak seems to have been broken with the debut of Predator: Badlands, the latest installment in the long-running franchise and the third from director Dan Trachtenberg (following 2022’s Prey and this year’s animated Predator: Killer of Killers, both of which went directly to streaming on Hulu).

With a $40 million debut, it’s the biggest opening in the history of the Predator franchise, passing 2004’s Alien vs. Predator. Incidentally, if you count the Yautja and the Xenomorphs as a singular franchise, it’s the third best weekend behind just Prometheus and Alien: Romulus. Disney undoubtedly had high hopes for the Alien and Predator franchises when they acquired Fox several years ago, and it appears that those hopes are finally paying off.

Regretting You took second place in its third weekend, grossing $7.1 million to hit $38 million overall. Black Phone 2 followed close behind with $5.3 million, putting its four weekend total at $70 million domestically. Two new historical dramas rounded out the top five, as Sarah’s Oil took fourth place with $4.4 million and Nuremberg landed in the number-five spot with $3.8 million.

Predator: Badlands will remain the likely favorite this coming weekend, but it’ll see some competition from the likes of threequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and Paramount’s remake of The Running Man, starring Glen Powell and directed by Edgar Wright.
