Box Office Round-Up ~ 2/9/26

The one-two punch of the Winter Olympics and the Super Bowl made it a quiet weekend at the box office, with major studios avoiding the release date altogether. This cleared the field for several smaller titles to crack the top five, pushing the last of the 2025 blockbusters farther down the list.

Send Help won its sophomore weekend with $9 million, clearing $34 million total in the U.S. Kevin James-led romantic comedy Solo Mio - the latest from Angel Studios - debuted with a solid $7 million. Markiplier’s Iron Lung moved to third place in its second weekend with $6.7 million, clearing the $30 million mark domestically.

In fourth place, K-Pop concert documentary Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience debuted with $5.6 million. It’s the inaugural release for independent distributor Bleecker Street’s new event cinema arm Crosswalk (similar to Fathom Events), and a big success for them right out of the gate. Similarly, indie producer/distributor Vertical Entertainment saw their best weekend ever with Luc Besson’s take on Dracula, which debuted in fifth place with $4.4 million.

Things get a little more crowded and competitive this coming weekend (a long weekend for Presidents Day with Valentine’s Day in the middle of it), with highlights including Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, Gore Verbinski’s sci-fi comedy Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die, and a crime drama starring Chris Hemsworth, appropriately named Crime 101.
