Notes From the Rep Biz ~ 9/4/2026

A major TV doctor, Lost alum, and a former Spider Woman all have new agents! Several reps move to new digs! Plus: Inde Navarrette’s next gig, there’s a new RoboCop and our Project of the Month gets down and dirty in 14th Century France! All this and more in today’s Notes From the Rep Biz! 

At WME:

Podcaster Katie Atkin has signed with WME along with her country music digital brand Girls In Low Places. Atkin, a UK native started her podcast in 2024 and has managed to amass an impressive array of country music stars for interviews including: Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Shaboozey, Lainey Wilson, and many more. Girls in Low Places has roughly 100,000 followers. 

Shortly after leaving CAA, Noah Wyle moved to WME. Wyle came to fame starring in the hit NBC medical drama E.R. After that series ended, Wyle went on to star in The Librarian series of films and its spinoff TV series. Currently he is starring in HBO’s hit drama The Pitt which landed him his first Emmy win last year.

At CAA:

Actor and producer Daniel Dae Kim is a new sign for CAA. Kim’s claim to fame comes from the series Lost where he played the overly protective Jin. After that series ended he went on to the CBS’ reboot of Hawaii Five-0. More recently he’s appeared in Netflix’s Avatar the Last Airbender live action adaptation and played Healer Han in K-Pop Demon Hunters. As a producer he has been behind such projects as K-Everything about South Korean influence on the world at large, The Good Doctor, Bad Axe, and Butterfly. Kim was the first Asian actor nominated for Best Performance at the 2025 Tony’s for his starring role in Yellow Face.  

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney is now also repped by the Death Star. Sweeney rose to fame on the HBO hit teen drama, along with roles in White Lotus which garnered her two Emmy noms. Sweeny has parlayed her rise to producing, behind projects such as Immaculate, Christy, and The Housemaid co-starring Amanda Seyfried. Housemaid was based on Freida McFadden’s novel of the same name and was a huge hit last year. Sweeney has a busy slate of projects ahead of her, she will be starring in the live action Gundam adaptation for Netflix, The Housemaid sequel The Housemaid’s Secret. With her new production company Honey Trap Productions she has an adaptation of Barbarella in development, along with Hollow, a romantasy update of Washington Irving’s Sleepy Hollow based on the novel by Lindsay Anderson Beer.  

At UTA:

UTA has signed actress Elle Chapman. Chapman is best known for her role as Paige McIntosh on the Paramount + drama series The Madison opposite Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer. Chapman comes from the LA Improv scene with stints at The Groundlings and UCB. Next up she will be in the second season of The Madison and season 13 of American Horror Story.  

Singer and songwriter, Meghan Trainor is also now agented by UTA. Trainor’s 2014 ubiquitous hit “All About That Bass” spent eight weeks on top of Billboard’s Top 100 list. The following year, Trainor won the Best New Artist Grammy. Her seventh studio album Toy With Me was released this past April.  

OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN

Manager Alyssa Manning has moved to Untitled Entertainment, bringing along clients such as Aidan Blake, Grace Brinkly, and Greyson Hoezel. Also actor Tyriq Withers is now managed by Untitled. Withers will next be seen in Tennis Rom Com Love Love, and was in Colleen Hoover adaptation Reminders of Him earlier this year.

Agent Margaret Mendelson has left Innovative and joined Independent Artist Group. The agency has also hired Sandy Lam and Sara Gonzalez.

Director Julius Onah is now managed by Blue Marble Management. Onah has had a very prolific career since 2015 breakout The Girl is in Trouble, in 2019 he directed The Cloverfield Paradox and last year’s Captain America: Brave New World.

Another Innovative agent is moving on. Melissa Hirschenson has left the agency to form her own company The Hirschenson Group.

Managers Nick Todisco and Brad Pence have left Atlas Artists and joined Linden Entertainment. Todisco’s list includes: Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Jovan Wade. Pence’s list includes: Emily Hampshire, Finn Jones, and Mary Holland.  

MUSIC NOTES

Singer/songwriter Alice Glass is now agented by Ground Control Touring. Co-Founder of the band Crystal Castles, Glass went solo in 2015. Last November Glass released the single “MERCY KILL” which was highly praised and is apparently part of a larger project. 

Guy Cooper is now repped by THE·TEAM. The 19 year-old Cooper has been releasing indie music on TikTok and Instgram including the singles: “Myth,” “Over Now,” and “I’m Lost.”

SPORTS NOTES

Dallas Wings Guard Kitija Laksa is now repped by The Fam.

3 Arts Sports now manages New York Giants Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux.

CASTING NOTES

As Inde Navarette’s star continues to rise, and as such she’s booking more projects. Navarrette will star in The Waffle House Index from director Louis Paxton and screenwriter Andrew Nunnely. Nunnely’s script landed on the 2025 Black List and centers around a young woman who has one extremely bad night during her late shift at a, you guessed it, Waffle House.

Following his unconventional post Downton Abbey roles, Dan Stevens will be playing officer Alex J. Murphy AKA RoboCop in Amazon’s reboot of RoboCop. The series comes from showrunner Peter Ocko (Lodge 49, Moonhaven) and will be a modern update on the 1987 Paul Verhoeven directed, Peter Weller starring classic. 

Deadline is reporting that Noah Jupe has an undisclosed role in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, which for those keeping track is the sequel to this year’s Avengers: Doomsday. No word on who Jupe could be potentially playing, but he played Romeo opposite Sadie Sink's Juliet in Romeo and Juliet on the West End this summer, so maybe he’ll be a certain mutant in love with Jean Grey, who’s very hairy and broody, maybe a Wolverine type? Anyway, Jupe will next appear in Play Dead which will be released by Netflix. Additionally he will appear in A Quiet Place Part 3. 

PROJECT OF THE MONTH

The general rule of thumb for screenwriters is to never, ever, write a script longer than 110 pages. Well, don’t tell that to brothers Kieran and Brennan O’Dea! The pair’s spec script The Ballad of the Ember Knight with a page count of 186 pages sold to Sony for almost seven figures! 

The epic story is set during the Hundred Years' War and follows a warrior accused of murdering the royal family who must protect the Kingdom’s last surviving heir to reclaim his honor. With The Odyssey lighting up the box office it seems like the age of the Hollywood Epic is returning to cinemas.

The O’Dea’s are newcomers to the industry with no other credits, but our guess is following this sale they’ll be fairly in demand. This follows a trend that makes it look like the spec business is in an upswing. The O’Dea brothers are repped by CAA and Kaplan/Perrone.
