Notes From the Rep Biz ~ 4/10/2026

New music agents to WME! A major writer/director to CAA! A triple threat to UTA! While established stars get new reps, Kid Cudi sets his directorial debut! All this and more in today’s Notes From the Rep Biz!

 

At WME:

Music agents Andre Belcourt and Will Marshall have joined WME in London. Belcourt mostly reps electronic music acts such as BontanElliot Schooling & Liam Palmer, and L.P. Rhythm. Marshall moves to WME from Primary Talent Booking and reps acts such as beabadoobeeAnthony Szmierek, and Matilda Mann.

  

 

At CAA:

Actress, writer, and director Greta Gerwig is now repped by CAA. Gerwig started her career acting in the indie mumblecore scene, with roles in films such as Baghead and Yeast. Eventually she moved into writing, co-writing Frances Ha (which she also acted in). Gerwig made her directing debut with the dramedy Ladybird in 2017 and then followed that with an adaptation of Little Women in 2019. In 2023 she wrote and directed Barbie which garnered her Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Adapted screenplay. She is currently working on a new adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix.

 

 

At UTA:

Singer, songwriter, and actress Janelle Monáe is now agented by UTA. The prolific artist has got a slew of projects coming up; next month the film Is God Is is set to release and Monáe will be voicing a character on Netflix’s animated series Bass X Machina. Their album The Age of Pleasure received multiple Grammy nominations in 2023 including Album of the Year and Best Progressive Album. 

 

 

OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN

Actress and producer Ashley Benson is now managed by Strand Entertainment. Benson’s breakout came from Pretty Little Liars and her other credits include; Spring Breakers and Her Smell. Benson can most recently be seen indie McVeigh.

 

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks is now agented by Independent Artist Group. Last year she starred in and produced the series Small Town, Big Story and can currently be seen in Apple TV’s The Buccaneers. She also DJ’s in her free time.  

 

Actor Jason Lee is now managed by Artists First. A former skateboarder, Lee first came to prominence in Kevin Smith’s films Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma. His most widely known role is playing the titular Earl in My Name is Earl. Most recently he was in Netflix’s The Residence.

 

 

MUSIC NOTES

Last year John Legend signed with a new agency, and this year he has new management. The singer/songwriter/actor is now managed by Roc Nation. 

 

fliss is now managed by Pulse Music Group. Based in London the singer/songwriter gained attention with the single “Coming Around” (her debut) which went viral and garnered over two million streams. 

 

 

SPORTS NOTES

Ohio State running back Legend Bey is now repped by Rosenhaus Sports Representation.

 

Lift Sports has signed Florida Gators forward Me’Arah O’Neal (daughter of Shaquille O’Neal).

 

Utah Jazz Guard Isaiah Collier has signed with Klutch Sports.

 

 

CASTING NOTES

Laura Dern is set to star and executive produce a TV series based on Julie K. Brown’s book Perversion of Justice: The Jeffery Epstein Story. The series follows the investigations into Epstein’s plea deal with federal prosecutors. The series will be written by Sharon Hoffman who will showrun the series with producer Eileen Myers.

 

Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi is making directorial debut with the film Doe. Mescudi will not only direct the film, but will star in it as well along with Mark WebberLeah McNamaraBrandon Scott, and Brandon Perea. The drama will explore one man dealing with addiction on the streets of Hollywood during a 24 hour period.
